TESTIMONIALS TO THE GUILD AND ITS MEMBERS

Re: Phil Illingworth
How I admire the artist Phil Illingworth. It is one thing to take a photograph of a beautiful and sensual woman, but to be able to create them from your own imagination and then put those fantasy figures onto paper or canvas is a true gift. Heaven knows what his dreams are like if these are the women who fill his waking moments! Superb - more please.

Re: Andy Howard
Your ‘Photographer of the Month’ feature on Andy Howard in the last issue was awesome and I particularly liked his outdoor images; the girl leaning over the fence was superb, but the centre-page spread of the girl on the bench would take a lot of beating. It gets my vote as ‘Image of the Year’ - it was just perfection!

RE: Steve DT
My choice for image of the month in issue 36 would have been the one by Steve DT on page 32. The simplicity of the image and the direct gaze of the model, combined with her very slender, small proportions took my breath away!

Re: John Tisbury
I think John Tisbury must count among one of the most gifted photographers you’ve ever featured in the magazine (I’ve been a subscriber since issue 1). His spread in issue 35 was one of the very best you’ve published. His angles are always great, his models gorgeous to the point of perfection and his lighting, props and composition spot on. What an extraordinarily high standard to set for others to follow.

Re: JADE magazine
JADE remains one of the best erotic magazines available, devoid as it is of smut and adverts, and filled with beautiful and sensual images. Keep up the good work!

Re: Brown Skin Books
Will you be featuring any more fiction from writers of the Brown Skin Books stable? I thought their stories were among the best you’ve ever published.

Re: Mike Crawley
As a fan of Mike Crawley, I was delighted to see more of his wonderful images appear again. He really is a credit to the magazine and to the Guild too - long may he continue capturing such wonderful sensuous images.

Re: JADE Magazine
I have been a member of the Guild for four years now and wanted to write and thank you for last year’s run of magazines (the first time JADE has been included with our membership). I wanted to congratulate you on your excellent, one of a kind journal. Erotica does something for everyone, be it positive or negative (like or dislike) we all get some emotion from it. I think your magazine is the best and only way to make erotica work, and to promote a wide selection to a wide audience. In reality, who really wants a 3’ x 2’ nude hanging over their mantelpiece? So few people truly have the space or courage to hang erotic art in their homes. JADE has offered much inspiration to the artists, painters and snappers among us and for me it has boosted my enthusiasm to paint la femme nude with growing confidence. Yet it does seem that many have gone ‘robotic’ with standard shots, sets, models and poses. So where does that leave the base product of innovation and creativity? Will it ever be truly sufficient for the viewer to get his buzz from the download? I think not. So it falls to us to carry on unbowed, being creative and expressing ourselves through our original work and in a worthy publication such as JADE.

Re: Jamie McCartney
I really look forward to JADE and particularly the Through the Lens feature. The one on sculptor Jamie McCartney was superb and opened a whole are of art I knew very little about. Seeing Jamie at work, developing his ideas and the finished work in the same article gave a well rounded feel to the feature.

Re: JADE magazine
The last issue was a superb example of just how far the Guild of Erotic Artists has come in the last five years, with no fewer than seven members being featured in issue 36. JADE has, for a number of years, provided the perfect setting for our talented and gifted members to express themselves, most of them for the first time in print!

Re: JADE magazine
Having read my copy of JADE I would just like to extend my gratitude and thanks to yourself and all at the magazine for your hard work, support and commitment to the Guild. I wasn’t present at the AGM last year, having just had our first baby. However, had I been there I would have stood up in support of JADE at the time. I have always found you to be courteous, hard-working and speedy with any requests I have put to you. I do not find JADE to be distasteful nor seedy, indeed I consider it to be a very well produced and artistic magazine which I find quite palatable. In due course I would love to see my work featured. Keep up the good work.
