New Exhibitions
Lifecaster and sculptor, Ken Clarke, has two new major exhibitions of his work planned for September and October. Please visit our 'Events' page for more detailed information.

Model in Film Role
Guild male model Ken Fahy has recently appeared in the movie 'Cashback', which was released in London on 9th May. The film is a light hearted romantic comedy, starring Sean Biggerstaff and Emilia Fox. The plot concerns a love-lorn art student (SB), who, to cut a long story short, attends a life drawing class. The scene required a real artists' model to pose on a dais and do what models do: after the audition, Ken got the part. It involved about 10 mins of screen time, mainly side and rear shots and a brief line of dialogue. It's the kind of film that will probably do well on DVD, then turn up on TV at some stage. Well done to Ken.

Model in Music Video
One of the Guild's most successful models, Leila Domini, is featured on the video for the latest song by The Feeling. The track is called 'Turn It Up' and can be seen on YouTube. Leila also featured in the June issue of JADE magazine, with a superb spread and write up.

Slipland Photoshoot A Huge Success
A great group photoshoot was held by Guild members Slipland at Beaumont Hall Studios last weekend (1st June). The Studios were hired out to them and with around 26 photographers and 26 models, Pam, Darren and Launa of Slipland organised a Fashion through the 20th century day with models dressed in fashions and lingerie from the 1920s up to the 1980s . It was a private paying shoot, which is why it wasn't advertised on the Guild site, but many Guild members were in attendance as the event had been promoted on Net Model; where you can see some of the results and the many comments made. It is interesting to note that all the images we taken in and around Beaumont Hall Studios, which just shows what can be created with a lot of effort and imagination. The event was a great bit of promotion for both The Studios and The Guild and has led to us acquiring more new members, and the exposure will help in hiring out the Studios in the future. If any Guild member wants to hire the Studios it only costs £30 per day, which includes all the surrounding countryside as well! Well done to everyone involved in making the day such a wonderful one, but most importantly, a big thank you to Pam, Darren and Launa and all the volunteers who came along to help set up the The Studios and clear the outside area of the weeds that had grown to Trffid proportions!

Theirs was a love hampered by time . . . There were never enough hours in the day. They were never in the same place long enough to spend much time together. Patrick and Susan worked hard. They both had demanding careers that kept them at opposite ends of the globe for large amounts of time with only fleeting moments to be together. Yet the heat, the love, the friendship they shared was a connection neither wanted to ignore . . .

The exhibition runs from 20th to 26th November. Bridgwater Arts Centre's Christmas exhibition is running again as usual - this is an exhibition open to anyone to submit up to 3 pieces, and Nancy will be submitting artwork. If you visit her website you can see the painting in question - or pop into the Arts Centre to see it in real life. There is a Private Viewing on Friday 30th November 7.00-9.00pm - Guild members should let Nancy know if they'd like to come

Slipland 40's Day at Beaumont Hall Studios 2007
What a lovely day it was. The organisers, Slipland, were at Beaumont Hall Studios for the Slipland 40's day photoshoot bright and early. With 28 photographers, 28 models, army vehicles, replica guns and a London Taxi the scene was set for a marvellous string of photoshoots. The weather was glorious and Pam, Darren and Launa of Slipland did themselves proud with the smooth organisation of the event. Armed with various sets of clothing, slips and other lingerie, the Studios were in use as changing rooms and three photo sets. Outside a marquee served as another set, and there were photoshoots on the vehicles, in the fields, along the Beaumont Hall Wall and in the farm itself. The models did a fantastic job working hard with the photographers throughout the day. The highlight of the afternoon was when all the models were lined up against the wall with the 'Sergeant Major' shouting instructions. (Reminiscent of Carry on up the Khyber!) We would like to thank everyone who took part, models and photographers, but especially to Slipland for organising such a brilliant and successful event.

Paul Ballard Wins Award
Scarlet Magazine held their awards on Thursday 11th October at Jongleurs in Camden Town, London. We were represented by three Guild nominees; Paul Ballard and Nancy Farmer in the Best Artist category and Petra Joy for Best Film. Well done to all three for getting nominated against stiff competition. We are proud to announce that Paul Ballard won the Best Erotic Artist Award. It was a great boost for him and a real coup for The Guild.

Adults Only Show
We want to thank the Guild Members who exhibited at The Adults Only Show at Birmingham. It was the first exhibition for the organisers, so no one knew quite what to expect, but a steady Friday and a slow Saturday was followed by a fairly brisk Sunday. The general opinion was that it wasn't bad for a first time event and that it seemed well organised. The loading and unloading and parking was brilliant and they even laid on free tea and coffee and food. Thanks to Ken Clarke and his bodycasting demo which attracted the crowds as usual. And it was nice to meet a potential new model member on the Sunday. Guild member Dave Davies was also there, albeit working on something else for a change, but he still found time to set up a photo set and do a few shoots and also provided commentary for Ken's demonstrations. Thanks to everyone who came along as visitors.

Guild's Vix Antonio Selling Art Print
For the first time ever I'm going to be selling one of my art prints. I've not done this before, I have only ever given prints as gifts to a limited number of people. The image in question was featured in my exhibition. I only ever had two made of this particular print in this format at the time of the exhibition. Click for the image of the print and for an idea of it's scaling (note: this is not 'work' safe): cakemix this is the composite version cakemix-compositeSpecification: it's huge at 23 inches by 33 inches - that's roughly A1 size. It is laminate mounted (that's right - wipe clean!) on to black-edged wood board which is half an inch thick. The model was the delectable Cakemix aka Cherie Matrix, feminist author, anti- censorship campaigner and just down right damn sexy lady. I will include a copy of the booklet from the exhibition (only 10 of which were made as gifts) that features all the images from the exhibition. Make me an offer. Delivery/collection is negotiable. Contact Vix here.

Curve Pericolose - Dangerous Curves - 29th May 2007 to 7th June 2007
Casa del Pane Milano (porta Venezia), Milano, Italy
Recently, erotic photo artist Nora NESS, who takes erotic self portraits in front of the mirror, and Dutch photographer and photo artist Visual Clash (Sander Steins) have initiated an interesting collaboration. Their aim is the creation of a portfolio of very extraordinary sensual erotic art. Their own website will soon go live, where art dealers and art collectors can see these special works, which combine the erotic fantasies and visions of both artists in an impressive way. Nora Ness (Guild Member), who is already called the female Helmut Newton because of her unconventional erotic work off the mainstream, is very pleased to work with Visiual Clash, whose work is not only of a very high quality, but also very provocative. He is inspired by dark erotica, which is also a theme in the photographic work of Nora. Their combined erotic art will move the boundaries of conventional erotic art. Especially the combination of the sometimes very provoking self portraits of Nora and the dark visions of Visual Clash.
Visit www.mirrotica.com for more info.

More than 20 members of the Guild of Erotic Artists have now been accepted into the new British Museum of Erotic Art and more are under consideration. www.britishmuseumoferoticart.com was founded in mid 2006 as a web-based museum and art gallery dedicated to erotic art. The Museum and Gallery aims to show an exciting blend of contemporary, vintage and classic works with a strong emphasis on contemporary art. The British Museum of Erotic Art hosts regular online exhibitions featuring work by some of the world's best erotic artists and emerging talent.

Guild Members Wanted
JADE magazine is now looking for some more serious and thoughtful articles on erotica, erotic art, photography, modelling etc., from fellow Guild members. You don't have to be able to write to a professional standard as editing is done in-house - but you do have to have something interesting to say on the whole 'erotica' subject or a specific theme or topic (we're not interested in political comment or on hidden or overt agendas or axes being ground - nor is this a self promotion excercise - but an opportunity to add to the erotica debate). This is a great opportunity for those articulate Guild members who would like to rise to the challenge of writing something interesting which a wide ranging, intelligent and mature audience would enjoy or engage with. Contact Mark at JADE if you would like to discuss this further.

The Book of the Guild
The Guild's first book is now available. Entitled simply 'The Guild of Erotic Artists', the A4 size, limited edition paperback has been written, produced and published by The Guild of Erotic Artists. Along with images of their work, 25 of our artists, photographers and sculptors provide their biographies, techniques and the background behind their skills. Sometimes humourous, sometimes heart breaking, it is a work of art in itself. Whether you are a would-be photographer, an art student, or just interested in a good read, this book is a must. With a run of just 5,000 copies, the book is a Limited Edition - a collector's item. Volume Two is already under preperation.
